This was also your first chance to get a hod of the upcoming “Luscious: Rikers Island” issue of Brimstone & the Borderhounds. We had Jose Hernandez Jr joining us at the table and got to see Sam Carlin, the man who Inked the special Luscious comic.

End of the Year…

Posted in Luscious on December 31, 2011 by Luscious

So here we come to a close of 2011, and did everyone have fun? I sure do hope so. Has everyone taken the time to look back at what they have done this year or what they hope to do next year?

This past year Luscious has:

  • eaten a dirty burger (Ian Russo you done made heaven on earth… and its DIRTY! Discover Dirty)
  • been to a pumpkin festival
  • got me new feathers (thanks PartyFeathers.com)
  • hit NYCC like a feathery fiend… and left feathers everywhere)
  • Got to see myself as a kids book Character (Crashbat)
  • got to see the original BatChopper (I touched it)
  • got turned into a plush doll (Its so FLUFFY!!)
  • Got to sing Lady GaGa with Wolverine?? (Iam Logan)
  • FOREST OF FEAR, omg so much fun.
  • Met so MANY people at all the places Hound Comics hit I wish I could remember ALL the names.

But that’s just one year in a lifetime of years still to come. So many other things I could list here, but it would take forever to put it all down. You wanna join me this coming year? Lets make it count people. Let’s make it fun.

And check out HOUND COMIC’s year end video.

2012… what you got for me?!?

p.s. – the rumor is true… a Luscious song is in the works. WhaT?!?

CHIMICHANGA! We had F-U-N at Allentown. Not just at the Great Allentown Comic Con but in the town itself.

So we arrived and got set up at the Merchants Square Mall, and let me tell you this is place is nice! Its got an old school charm with stores and design. I done went shopping and got some nice thangs.

So we arrived set up, and went out to eat… and you know I likes to EATS. So we found a target and ATTACKED! WE ate at an awesome place called Aladdin where the food is not only Middle Eastern, but extremely yummy. And I even did a belly dance. I could go on and describe it all but you guys can just watch and see just how good it was.

It was SO GOOD I wanna go back all ready! It’s all about the hummus baby!

 The Great Allentown Comic Con
2 days of fun! And I mean fun. with multiple tables at the con we took over almost an entire corner of the place. And we had a long list of people with us as part of the Hound Comics team. And it was the first time all three comic lines were together… I’m talking about Brimstone & the Borderhounds, M3, and The Protector. We had all the writers to each comic and so many artists up the wahzoo. There’s footage of each artist doing their crafty craft for the camera. You gotta see Terry, Chris N., Sajad, & Mina all doing their stuff on paper.

Peter Mayhew (Mr Chewbacca) did a Star Wars panel along side Tom Kane. And they both spent the day being super busy signing autographs and taking photos.

Hound Comicshad its own panel too, which I gots to be a part of. Woo Hoo! It was great, I got to be up their with the great minds of Marcello Carnivali, Chris NotarileErica Schultz (the writers of Hound Comic‘s comic books.) We got to talk about our upcoming plans and discuss just general writing and what goes into making a comic. Also talked about our favorite comics and comic based movies.

Terry Naughton also did a panel on his time at Disney, which I got a chance to catch. Terry really made it special by inviting everyone to come up and sit with him at the table making it an intimate panel, which you rarely get. Everyone there loved it and the questions just kept coming after wards.

Brimstone got to be on a live show that took place at the con called Pretending to Be on TV, and I got watch from the audience.  It basically like a late night talk show that’s done live. These guys where pretty funny. they spoke to Brimstone about what Hound Comics does and what we got coming up. Gonna have to check and see when the footage will be available for watching.

So these 2 days were crazy… and it got insane on the first night when we went to eat and do a Tid Bit at the place where the official after party. Lee Gribben’s On Main was the place to be Saturday night! We had some amazing food and a wild time. We got to sit eat and relax with the World Warrior Low Ki who was with the Hound Comics family all weekend, we rarely get to see him so it was extra nice. We had fun and i left feathers everywhere! Good thing PartyFeathers.com loves Luscious… and guess what… they can love you too you’ll see soon. But this after party was fun and I can;t waits for the next time we hit Allentown.

Ugh so much stuff went on. Hound Comics loves doing  The Great Allentown Comic Con! Its always fun there. Big thanks to Chris W. & company who made it happen. I hope you’re all breathing easy now. Just let me know when we coming back to I can stock up on chicken!

Thank gravy Etan summed it up for us. Check it out.

New Jersey Comic Expo a.k.a. Batman-a-thon!

Posted in Luscious on November 14, 2011 by Luscious

We descended upon NJ at the Teaneck, NJ Armory for the NJ Comic Expo like they was we always do. I was like “Ooh, look a tank!” but then once inside it was “Ooh, look… Batmobiles” cause they was all plural. This place was nice and they it was all full of comics and cars. There was more than one Batmobile and I just don’t mean automobiles. There was a Batcycle, Batmobiles from the 60’s and even the Batmodile from the Michael Keaton Batman movie. It was cool to see those cars, and I would have tried to drie one away, but they don’t make pretty cars like that my size. Although I probably could have made away in the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, but they would gone back in time and caught me with the Back to the Future Delorean that was there.

And did I mention the BatmEn? Yes I said MEN. Cause they were more of them there then there were Batmobiles. You had your 60’s Batman and a couple of Dark Knight Batmans. There was even a Joker riddler and Catwoman… OMG CATWOMAN! You know who else was there? Lee Meriwether… ooooooh she was nice. I got a nice shot her Lee and Camille from comiccamilleon.com who was done up in her Catwoman best! Meow, baby!

And also the Batcopter! We got to see that sukka fly in and land outside. Then all the cosplayers came out and took photos with it. Good thing the Chopper wasn’t shy. And then at the end of the Con ol’ Lush here got to film that whirlybird take off into the night.

But the weekend was all about Batman!

Hound Comics was proud to debut its newest title The Protector! And we had both Notarile’s there, Father & Son. Dad does the art and son does the story, how cool is that?!? And The Protector himself showed up too! We got to hang out like Superhero Rockstars. You gotta check out this new title, as it became the talk of the Con. I still got to get myself a copy. But you can check out the book yourself click here

.

And for a sec I thought I was seeing double! I go over to the Back to the Future car so I can gets a nice close uplook at it and the next thing I see is Chris Notarile, who left his Blinky Productions booth for a sec, was messing around with the Marty McFly look-a-like! Luckily I was able to gets a photo. These guys were always checking their watches like they was late for something.

Up next… The Great Allentown Comic Con! Can’t wait, Allentown is always fun! We’re gonna have almost the entire Hound Comics team with us! So you gotta come down! It’s gonna be a party at our booth!

But before we go can someone tell Nick Fury… No smoking near the gas trucks! I don’t care if its his military team, its still dangerous.

OHIO! oHIO! OHIo!

Posted in Luscious on October 25, 2011 by Luscious

We did so much stuff in Ohio, where do I start? Hmmm, let me think.

Pumpkin Show!
The day before the Comic Con we had time to go around and look around and see what Ohio gots. And we come across a
Pumpkin Show in Circleville. This was an all out takeover of Main St. with rides, a parade, vendors, and foods… pumpkin foods.  We got a chance to eat a pumpkin burger, that’s right pumpkin burger!

While everyone was enjoying the fun I gots to look at some old school Americana buildings, it was like jumping back in time.

Luscious loves him some cool architecture, didn’t know that did you!

Me and Etan even got to go in a traveling reptile show and see some cool snakes, they even had a Black Mamba, not to be confused with a Black Mambo which I been knows to do… don’t ask. And we came across a pumpkin pyramid and got to take photos next to the largest pumpkins I done ever seen… they were huge, they bold, they were beautiful… kinda like me, BACOCK!

By the way, I noticed Ohio has a large amount of red heads. What’s up with that? That’s a lot of gingers per something… made me almost want to go Ginger Snapping… ha ha, kidding… maybe.

Ohio Comic Con
As soon as we walked in, there was one thing you had to see… the ceiling. It was all lights of many colors… and they changed colors too, that was some coolness I was not prepared for.  The day went by really fast and really good.  The doors opened like a flood gate and people came rushing in. We spent so much time talking to people I must have drank like 3 gallons of water.

I signed a lot of Brimstone and the Borderhounds issues and even got to sign a couple of T-Shirts and make some people smile, KEEP SMILING YOU!

And then the fun continued into day 2! More signing, more fun, more feathers!

Got to see the world’s first giant glass etched comic book. WOWIE WAH WAH! This thing was big and lit up. And it’s creator, Wade Gugino, was a fun guy… just look at his pose. It speaks a million words.

Did I mention the cosplayers? These are the people that make these events extra fun! Here is a small gallery of what I got to see. I got special kick out of the little Weeping Angel who made my day. Big HELLO to the ladies who visited and chatted with Luscious as The Doctor and Rose (from the Idiot’s Lantern episode) and then came back on day 2 as Captain Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann.

Got to meet and hang out with some cool cats like:

Douglas R. Brown author of “The Light of Epertase” trilogy and whose book about werewolves called “Tamed” I gotta wait till January for, DAMN IT!

.

.

Byron Winton whose awesome art I got to take home, aw yeah! His booth was right next to Hound Comics, so we got to chat it up. Thanks again!

.

Eric Adam who does Lackluster Word, a comic book about an albino, who would have thunk? I got me the first issue, that’s right Luscious reads!

Also writer and creator of  Zombie Chuck,  Brian Fyffe.

To all you guys, sorry if I left some feathers behind, that’s just how I roll!

And to the Mohawk guys… great hair, it as fun chatting… don’t think I got your names though.

Ohio Comic Con 2011

.

THE TID BITS

CiCi’s Pizza     .
Do I really need to say anything? You can just watch the video and see the fun.

..

zaik     .
At the end of Day 1 the Hound Comics team went over just a block to this place that rocked called  Mözaik. We got to film a Tid Bit and so much fun. This place, while it’s more a night club bar kinda atmosphere (which I liked the night, I likes to boogie) had some great food. I myself had something tasty called Chicken Satay… I can still taste it in my mouth. Check out the video to see how much fun this place can drop on you!

..

El Vaquero     .
Flavor party! We descended on great Mexican food at El Vaquero in Columbus, Ohio. The food had so much flavor, the whole group of us were taking bites out of each other’s plates. One highlight was the guacamole! We got to see how it’s made as the owner came to our table and chopped sliced and mashed the avocados into a green beautiful paste. Got to see another balloon Luscious get made, but my heart still belongs to another. Brimstone and I then attacked the kitchen to see how the food gets rocked! And we ended the night with fried ice cream… its ice cream, you know the cold stuff… but it’s been fried… SAY WHAT!

So that was Ohio. I got more photos from the trip… just check out my Facebook page or check Houndcomics.com  media page where you can find more photos and videos.
